Frequently Asked Questions about the Dining Plan
Question = This seems like alot of money for meals, is this really a good deal? This is a great deal for meals at Walt Disney World. The average guest will spend $50 per adult and $30 per child (ages 3-9) per day at Disney World. This price only includes your breakfast, lunch, and dinner (with just an entree, drink, taxes, and gratuity). With the Disney Dining Plan, you receive an appetizer and dessert with your sit-down meal and dessert with your counter service meal plus a snack. One of our favorite examples of the savings with the Dining Plan is a Character Meal at 1900 Park Fare. 1900 Park Fare is one of the least expensive Character Dining at Walt Disney World. This breakfast is $17.99 per adult and $10.99 per child (ages 3-9). When you add a drink, tax, and tip you will end up spending $24 per adult and $16 per child. You still have a counter service meal and snack for the adult (which will be more than $10.99). You are saving $6 for the child plus you still have a counter service meal and snack. Question = We are only visiting the Disney World Theme Parks for 3 days even though we are staying at Disney's All Star Movies Resort for 5 nights. Can we get the Dining Plan for just 3 days? Disney's Dining Plan is based on the number of nights on your package. If you are staying for 5 nights, you will get (5) sit-down meals, (5) counter service meals, and (5) snacks per person. You can use these meals anytime during your vacation so you can use most of your sit-down meals and counter service meals during your 3 days at the Disney Theme Parks. Question = We are only visiting the Disney Theme Parks for 2 days during our vacation, where else can we use the Dining Plan? You can use the Dining Plan at over 100 restaurants at the Disney Theme Parks, Disney Waterparks, Downtown Disney, and Disney Resorts. Most of the best restaurants at Walt Disney World are located outside the Disney Theme Parks at the Disney World Resorts. You can still enjoy the Disney Dining Plan at the wonderful restaurants at the 19 Disney Resorts! Question = Do I have to eat off a special menu with the Dining Plan? You can choose anything on the menu at the over 100 restaurants at Disney World. There are no limitations on what you can choose on the menu for adults. Children (ages 3-9) do eat off a children's menu when available. Planet Hollywood does have certain items that require a surcharge. If you visit Planet Hollywood for one of your sit-down meals, be sure to ask the server what items require a surcharge before ordering. |
