We are excited to have a guest blogger today, Tracie Cook! She has an amazing new book called Kid Tips for Walt Disney World: Touring Advice by Kids for Kids. She will be our guest blogger this week and next week, so stay tuned for more fun Disney World tips for kids by kids. Here's Tracie...
If you ever thought you knew what your child liked or what they found fun, you just might be surprised. Kid Tips for Walt Disney World: Touring Advice by Kids for Kids is compiled from actual tips written by children in response to questions about what they really liked about Walt Disney World.
With a kid's-eye view on everything from the best rides to the restaurants kids liked best, you’ll be surprised at the responses for their variety and reasoning as explained by the kid-tipsters. Carissa, age 12, from Southaven, Mississippi, has this Disney World tip: “If you need a break from all the enjoyment, take a look at what your hotel has to offer like pools, activities, fishing, and more!”
What makes this book special is that it goes well beyond a do-this mentality. Not only can the pleasantly clear-minded thinking utilized by the kid-tipsters be seen, but the wide range of experiences that the kids enjoyed was evident. Experiences available at Walt Disney World that are often overlooked were rated very highly and will certainly impact your planning when you learn why kids really liked some of the lesser-known attractions.
As one mom shared, “I just wanted to say thank you for writing this book. We as parents are so involved with planning the Disney vacation. I believe this book will encourage kids to read, they’ll learn something, and have a voice in the vacation planning process.” As an author and teacher, I couldn’t ask for anything more.
After your trip to Walt Disney World, encourage your young traveler to share their experiences with me. I personally read every single submission and will be updating the book soon. Your kid’s Disney World tip may just be in the very next publication. Visit Vacation Field Guides and have your child (between the ages of 7 and 15) submit his or her Walt Disney World tips. I’m also looking for tips for Disneyland and the Disney Cruise Line. This fall I’m releasing Walt Disney World Adventure, a field guide, guidebook, and educational resource. The book is packed with information about the park’s attractions, tips from kids, “secrets,” and amazing things to discover while touring the Walt Disney World Resort.
Just for Destinations in Florida guests, you can receive $2.00 off the current list price and be entered into a drawing to win a $25.00 Disney gift card. When you check out, use the code DF2 to receive the discount. The drawing takes place July 31, 2010, so order your copy of Kid Tips for Walt Disney World today!
