Cool Off this Summer on an Orlando Vacation

by admin on June 28, 2010

With the hot Florida heat beating down, how do you stay cool this summer in Orlando. Here are my top pics for staying cool this summer on an Orlando vacation.

#1 – Disney Water Parks – There is nothing better this summer than cooling off at a Disney Water Park like Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach. These fun themed water parks have great rides and thrills or you can just relax on the lazy river or wave pool. Spend a day relaxing under the sun at a Disney Water Park.

#2 – Fight Pirates and Ride Magic Carpets – One of my favorite attractions is right at Walt Disney World and it is all in air-conditioning. What am I referring to...DisneyQuest. This 5 floor virtual reality game room is a highlight for kids, teens, and even adults. You can fight pirates, ride a magic carpet with Aladdin, play bumper cars, and even create and then ride your own roller coaster. It is a great attraction and the whole building is in the cool air-conditioning.

#3 – Ice Bar on International Drive – Nothing cools down and evening like a trip to Orlando's own Ice Bar. This bar is all ice from the glasses to the bar stools. When you arrive, you will receive a special jacket and then head into the bar for some cool drinks.

#4 – Blue Man GroupUniversal Studios host a popular show called the Blue Man Group. This show is a mix of music, comedy, and lots of fun. Book a seat up close and you will get a poncho and watch out...you may get wet! The Blue Man Group is a fun show and evening out of the heat to cool down!

#5 – Sea World – If you are going to hit an Orlando Theme Park, why not hit one with lots of water. Sea World Orlando has lots of opportunities to cool down in the fun Florida heat. The kids play area alone is an afternoon of fun for the little ones. You can head over to the Shamu Show Believe or the Dolphin Show and sit in the “splash zone” where you will get wet. Actually, let's be honest; you will get soaked. There are also lots of experiences, where you get to dip your hand in water to touch stingrays, feed seals, or touch dolphins. For a theme park, Sea World will cool you down.

Stay cool this summer in Orlando with these fun activities to help beat the heat.  For more information about planning your Orlando vacation, contact our local agents at Destinations in Florida Travel.
