WDW Celebrations Review at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

WDW Celebrations EventLast weekend, I got to hang out with some of my "Disney friends" at Disney's Hollywood Studios for the WDW Celebrations Event.  We were there to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of Disney's Hollywood Studios, so what better way to celebrate than with a few hundred of my Disney friends!

The event was called Studio 20 and was held on May 1 & 2 at Walt Disney World.  The event was organized by a non profit group called WDW Celebrations.  These are volunteers that join together as a Disney community to celebrate milestones at Walt Disney World.  This was their third event called Studio 20 celebrating the 20th anniversary at Disney's Hollywood Studios.  The event kicked off at the Fantasia Miniature Golf Course for a little golf and fun.  It continued the next two days at Disney's Hollywood Studios.

On Saturday at Disney's Hollywood Studios, we arrived to the park early for the Grand Re-Opening festivities for the 20th anniversary.  I remember when Disney's Hollywood Studios opened and it amazes me that it has already been 20 years for this Disney Park.  After the rope drop, we headed over to one of the theaters to get hear a casual presentation from three of the Imagineers that helped create Disney's Hollywood Studios.  These Imagineers were Tom Fitzgerald (Excecutive Vice President, Senior Creative Executive), Eric Jacobson (Senior Vice President, Creative Development) and Bob Weis (Executive Vice President, Creative).  It was an incredible experience listen to them talk about the creative thoughts behind planning the rides and design for Disney's Hollywood Studios.

After this special presentation, we continued the afternoon with a scavenger hunt.  This park scavenger hunt was a fun look at Disney's Hollywood Studios (past and present).  Some of the other highlights of the weekend, were group rides on Toy Story Mania and Tower of Terror, check presentation to the Dream Team, and just catching up with some Disney friends!

The team at WDW Celebrations did a great job organizing this event.  When planning your Disney World vacation, ask us if there are any events going on during your trip.  For a small $6 fee, I got to experience alot of Disney Magic and meet some fellow Disney fans!  For the latest Disney World and Disney fan event, follow us on twitter.  We always post the latest events, happenings, and discounts on twitter.
