Most guests have a hard time deciding what to do on the first night of a Disney World vacation. One of the best ways to kick off your vacation is an evening at Downtown Disney. The Downtown Disney makes up the West Side, Pleasure Island, and Marketplace. The West Side is buzzing with entertainment including DisneyQuest, Cirque du Soleil, and the AMC movie theater. There are lots of fun restaurants including House of Blues, Wolfgang Puck, Planet Hollywood, and BONGOS. You can also shop at some unique merchandise shops.
Next to the West Side is Pleasure Island. This area features several speciality shops and Raglan Road Restaurant. Moving over to the Disney Marketplace, you can shop, shop, and shop some more with lots of unique merchandise stores. Some of the more popular stores include the Art of Disney, Pooh's Thoughtful Spot, World of Disney, BASIN, and more. There are also popular restaurants including the new T-REX, Rainforest Cafe, McDonalds, and even Wolfgang Puck Cafe Express. For entertainment for the kids, you can take a ride on the train, ride the carousel, or play in the dig site at T-REX.
Downtown Disney is free to roam around and play. If you have some time on the first night of your vacation and you do not know what to do, think Downtown Disney. You can shop, have dinner, and enjoy some entertainment at Downtown Disney.
